1.Q-What does the training entail?

   A-For the successful completion of 24 hours of training in the following topics, as set forth by the State of California Family Code 3200.5:

-Standards 5.20 and Code of Ethics

-Family and Juvenile Law Basics

-Intake Interviews and Orientation

-Safety and Security Procedures

-Do’s and Don’ts of the Industry

-Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Laws

-Child Development and Child Welfare

-Domestic Violence

-Sexual Abuse, Substance Abuse and Mental Illness

-Cultural Sensitivity; Working with Families from All Backgrounds

-Terminating a Visit, Intervention and Terminating Services-Working with the Courts and Attorneys

 

2. Q-How do monitors get hired?

    A-You are an independent contractor, meaning you advertise and work for yourself. You may work under/with Alison Kay until you feel you are more established within your monitoring career.  

 

3. Q-Who pays for the supervised visitation monitoring?

    A-The non-custodial parent will pay for the visit up front before the session unless otherwise advised by court order.

 

4. Q-How do monitors get paid?

    A- You will always get paid upfront before the session in cash and/or through a mobile payment app. If the parent does not pay you, then you do not proceed with the session.

 

5. Q- What is the minimum a monitor gets paid per hour?

    A- The minimum pay for a monitor is $50.00-$75..00 per hour and up depending on the court case.

 

6. Q-How many hours does a monitor work?

     A-This question is entirely up to you. You make your own hours! You can choose to work full or part time. Each visitation session is different, minimum hours are two hours per session and the sessions may be much longer depending on the court order or agreement between the parents.

 

7. Q- Where does a monitor go when meeting a client for the visitation session?

    A- Public places are always the best and safest place to go while on a visitation session. Parks, museums and zoos make it easy for all of you to stick together so everyone in the party is safe.

 

8. Q-When do I receive my certification?

    A- You will receive your certification after the completion of the 24 hour course.

 

9. Q- Will I be working for an agency?

    A- After completing my course you would be considered an independent contractor working under Caring Hands Supervised Visits and you will receives client referrals.

 

10. Q-What if I need help or have a question after I have completed the class?

       A-While working under Caring Hands Supervised Visits you will always have ongoing support and aftercare. In addition We also offer on going phone webinars.
